



(Incidentally, though, why is the typical LTE premium so damn high? It seems very strange that you can get an entire low end cellphone with screen, battery, application processor, storage, RAM, etc. It wouldn't surprise me too much if the LTE SKU is aimed at corporate, especially the travelling flavor: that is a user population with (mostly) fairly modest hardware requirements compared to hard-compiling devs, VM farmers, and the like and one that is likely to spend a fair amount of time away from a reliable network connection and have an expense account handling their data plan.Įspecially now that basically every phone not specifically crippled can act as a hotspot or a tethered modem if you need a quick hit of mobile data in a hurry the premium someone is willing to pay for an elegant, integrated, cellular modem isn't all that high unless they can afford the data plan required to use it frequently.
